The North Carolina Tar Heels and the North Carolina Wolf Pack are on a collision course. The two teams will meet in the semifinals of the 2012 ACC Tournament on Saturday.
The semifinals of the 2012 ACC Tournament kick off Saturday as four teams remain in the hunt to claim the conference championship and its accompanying berth in the NCAA Tournament.
One of the teams staying alive in the tournament so far is the No. 1-seeded North Carolina Tar Heels (28-4, 14-2 ACC), who advanced to the semifinals by coasting to an 85-69 win over the No. 8-seeded Maryland Terrapins on Friday.
They will be taking on the No. 5-seeded N.C. State Wolfpack (21-11, 9-7 ACC). Their in-state rivals punched their ticket to the semifinals with a 67-64 win over the No. 4-seeded Virginia Cavaliers on Friday.
These two teams met twice in the regular season and the Tar Heels swept both games, winning 74-55 and 86-74.
The game tips off at 1:00 p.m. ET Saturday and will be televised on ESPN.
