NIT Tournament 2012, Arizona Vs. Bucknell: Bison Knock Off No. 1 Wildcats

The 2012 NIT saw its first No. 1 team eliminated from the field when the Arizona Wildcats lost to the No. 8 Bucknell Bison, 65-54, Wednesday night. Mike Muscala led the way with 20 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks for the Bison.

The Bison hit an even 40 percent of its shots, shooting better than that from beyond the arc (43.8 percent). In addition to Muscala's performance, Cameron Ayers put in a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds while Bryson Johnson scored 14 points (12 on three-pointers).

Arizona struggled from the field, hitting on just 35.4 percent of its shots. Only six of the team's 20 three-points attempts went through the hoop. Solomon Hill had a strong game with 17 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals, but it clearly wasn't enough. Jesse Perry was the only other scorer to join him in double-digit points, chipping in 14.

The Bison will play the No. 5 Nevada Wolf Pack in the second round.
