Some fans of the Minnesota Golden Gophers and Washington Huskies will be watching their NIT semifinal with genuine interest in the outcome of the contest. Some will casually watch the game in hopes that it's just a good basketball game. But those who will be most interested in this game, with the notable exception of degenerate gamblers, are NBA Draft enthusiasts.
Washington guards Terrence Ross and Tony Wroten are expected to leave school early for the NBA Draft, and they're both on the fringes of the lottery, likely on the outside looking in. If you're a fan of an NBA team that's going to get bounced in the first round of the playoffs, get a jump on your peers by checking out your two-guard of the future.
Minnesota, despite their mediocre overall and Big Ten record, have comfortably beaten three very good teams to get here, so it's quite possible that Ross and Wroten could fail to win the hearts of Knicks and Celtics fans.
Game Date/Time: Tuesday, March 27, 9:00 p.m. ET
Venue: Madison Square Garden, New York, NY
TV: ESPN2/ESPN3
