Iowa State scored a triumph over Baylor that likely solidified the Cyclones' NCAA Tournament position.
If Iowa State's 2012 NCAA Tournament resume needed another bullet, the Cyclones secured it on Saturday night with an 80-72 upset of No. 9 Baylor.
The Cyclones erased a seven-point halftime deficit with good ball movement and balanced scoring. All five Iowa State starters scored in double figures, with Scott Christopherson putting in 23 to lead the Cyclones, and the team's 26 baskets came on 17 assists. Christopherson had six of those assists, and four rebounds, and Royce White had 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Baylor countered with Pierre Jackson — who had 35 points to lead all scorers, and made 11 of his 19 shots — but little else. Perry Jones, who had 10 points and 12 rebounds, was the only other Bear to finish in double figures on the night, and the Bears allowed Iowa State to finish on a 14-8 run after closing to within two points late in the second half.
