The Saint Joseph's Hawks kept their hopes of an NCAA tournament bid alive on Tuesday with an expected win over the UNC-Charlotte 49ers. At home in Philadelphia, St. Joe's shot well and dominated their visitors on the boards en route to a comfortable 80-64 win.

Five members of the Hawks, including four starters, scored in double figures while the team shot 55 percent from the field. Their size advantage against UNC-Charlotte was apparent throughout, with St. Joe's grabbing 40 rebounds to the 49ers' 26. The Hawks also recording eight blocks.

Carl Jones of St. Joe's lead all scorers with 23 points. Charlotte's Chris Braswell scored 20 points on 9-17 shooting, but he didn't get too much help from his teammates on that end. Charlotte shot 42 percent from the floor as a team.

St. Joe's moves on to face the No. 4 seeded Saint Bonaventure Bonnies on Wednesday.
