The 2012 Big 12 Tournament's opening round came to an end Wednesday evening with the Oklahoma St. Cowboys defeating the Texas Tech Red Raiders, 76-60. With just 10 teams in the conference this season, the bottom four teams played on Day 1 of the Tournament to gain spots against the top two teams in the tournament. The Cowboys will face the No. 2 Missouri Tigers Thursday night.
Keiton Page led the Cowboys with 20 points, but the scoring was doled out in almost equal shares for the team. Brian Williams and Cezar Guerrero put in 19 and 16 points, respectively, while Markel Brown scored 12 points. The Cowboys stole the ball 11 times and took advantage of 18 Texas Tech turnovers.
The Red Raiders had a trio of double-digit scorers, led by Jordan Tolbert and his 16 points, but the team shot just 43.8 percent from the field. They did, though, win the rebounding battle, 33-21.
