The Indiana Hoosiers took on the Penn State Nitany Lions in the opening round of the Big Ten Tournament Thursday afternoon from Banker's Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, looking to extend their seasons at least for one more game. And behind Jordan Hulls 20-point performance and another 19 from Cody Zeller, the Hoosiers advanced to the next round by the score of 75-58.
Indiana (25-7, 11-7 Big Ten) had a six-point advantage at the half, but held Penn State (12-20, 4-14 Big Ten) to only 26 second half points en route to their somewhat lopsided victory. Along with Hulls and Zeller excellent play, junior Christian Watford had himself a double-double with 14 points and 10 boards, going a perfect 10-for-10 from the stripe.
As for the Nitany Lions, they shot an abismal 34.5 percent from the field despite Tim Frazier's game-high 26 points. He finished a whopping 9-for-24 form the field. Trey Lewis added 11, while Jermaine Marshall added nine and four rebounds.
Indiana now moves on to face the No. 4 seeded Wisconsin Badgers in the quarterfinals Friday, with tipoff set for 2:30 p.m. ET. Coverage can be found on ESPN.
