Tom Izzo Is Really, Really Angry About The Firing Of Bruce Weber

Michigan St. Spartans head coach Tom Izzo led his team to an easy 92-75 win over the Iowa Hawkeyes in the quarterfinals of the Big Ten Tournament on Friday, but then he got down to what was really on his mind: the firing of Illinois Fighting Illini head coach Bruce Weber.

Graham Couch of MLive.com got some comments from Izzo after the game on Friday and the MSU coach had plenty to say about the ousting of Weber.

"Now we've got administrators that are pulling the rug out from under ourselves in the middle of January when they're 16-6 or -7 and whatever it was, (administrators) publicly talk about 'We'll make decisions at the end of the year,'" Izzo said, an edge to his tone the entire time. "I don't know what you think of kids, because they haven't changed much, but if there's one place they've changed, they're a little more fragile.

"So now we put that (saving Weber's job) on those poor kids. And then we're surprised that they lose 9 out of 10."

This was far from the only thing that Izzo said. He had much, much (MUCH) more vitriol to spread around. Click through to the article, because it's worth a read if you like head coaches being angry about things (and hey, who doesn't?).

It's refreshing that there's at least one coach prepared to go on record and be very, very, very angry about this situation. I keep expecting that article to end with, "Izzo then stormed out of the room, screaming something mostly unintelligible about 'something something their heads and something down their necks'"
