Larry Eustachy will be the next head basketball coach at Colorado State, this according to ESPN.com’s Andy Katz.
Eustachy is expected to be officially introduced at a press conference on Thursday. He will replace Tim Miles, who left the Rams to coach Nebraska on March 23.
Over eight seasons as the head coach at Southern Mississippi, Eustachy compiled an overall record of 142-113. This past season he led the Golden Eagles to the NCAA Tournament for the first time under his watch.
Eustachy is still best known for being fired at Iowa State after pictures of him drinking alcohol and kissing co-eds at a University of Missouri fraternity party surfaced in 2003. Before that he had an established a reputation as one of the hottest coaching names in college basketball.
Colorado State went 20-12 last season and received an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. They will return most of the key parts of that team, including leading scorer Wes Eikmeier.
