Nerlens Noel narrowed his choices to Kentucky, Syracuse and Georgetown before choosing the Wildcats by shaving the school's logo into the back of his head.
Nerlens Noel, regarded as the top recruit in the class of 2012, made his decision on Wednesday night, committing to join the Kentucky Wildcats during a ceremony on ESPNU.
After switching his classification from the recruiting class of 2012 to the 2013 class, Noel switched back to once again become a member of this year's class, immediately becoming the top player in the class. Since then, Noel's recruitment has exploded, even though he narrowed his choices to Kentucky, the Syracuse Orange and Georgetown Hoyas before choosing the Wildcats on Signing Day.
Noel is a supremely talented big man, checking in at 6-foot-10 and 205 pounds. His defense is superb, and his ability to block shots should make him an immediate force in the middle of coach John Calipari's defense. Noel has solid ball-handling ability and plenty of agility for his height, but as a 6-foot-10, 205-pound center, he'll still need to add weight when he gets to school. And he should jump in to replace Anthony Davis, at least somewhat, right away.
And you knew Noel, who sports a high-top fade and has a tendency to rock flashy gear on the court, wasn't going to make his announcement in a simple way. There would be no shirt reveal or hat dance for Noel. No, he went ahead and shaved his choice into the back of his head.
