Seth Greenberg Reportedly Fired From Virginia Tech, Sources Confirm To Washington Post

Seth Greenberg has been fired as head coach of the Virginia Tech Hokies men's basketball team, sources have confirmed with the Washington Post. The university has yet to officially confirm the news, but the latest corroborates an earlier report saying the longtime head coach is on his way out.

Virginia Tech is expected to hold a press conference at 4:00 p.m. ET that will hopefully provide more details. When asked in February, athletic director Jim Weaver said that Greenberg's job security "was not even a topic." The coach has since seen two assistant coaches, as well his director of basketball operations, leave for other jobs.

Greenberg compiled a 170-123 record in his nine seasons coaching the Hokies. His teams had the unfortunate reputation of just missing out on an NCAA Tournament bid on a yearly basis.
