The exodus from Mississippi State continues, as the Bulldogs will reportedly lose highly touted freshman SF Rodney Hood, who has reportedly decided to transfer:
Mississippi State's Rodney Hood will transfer, sources told CBSSports. Story coming soon.— Jeff Goodman (@GoodmanCBS) April 9, 2012
Hood is following Arnett Moultrie and Renardo Sidney, who both declared for the NBA Draft, out the door.
With Dee Bost graduating and long-time coach Rick Stansbury retiring, there's almost nothing left from a team that was ranked in the top 25 last season before a late slide that knocked them out of the NCAA Tournament.
Hood, a native of Meridian, MS, was rated No. 30 in the country coming out of high school in 2011, with the Bulldogs beating out Florida State and Louisville for his commitment.
At 6'8 205, he has the size and athleticism of an NBA-wing player to go with a smooth outside shot (36.4 percent from beyond the arc). He'll be a highly coveted player on the transfer market and he could be a first-round pick in the NBA Draft down the road.
