Nolan Richardson III, the son of former Arkansas and Tulsa basketball coach Nolan Richardson, was found dead inside his Tulsa home on Sunday.
Police said Monday that Richardson III's wife found her husband dead in a chair in their home at about 3 p.m. on Sunday. A cause of death was not immediately released, but police said the 47-year-old's death appears to be due to natural causes.
Richardson III, whose nickname was "Notes," served as an assistant to his father at Arkansas and later became the head coach at Tennessee State. He resigned from his position at Tennessee State in 2003 after being accused of bringing a gun into the school's arena.
Richardson III was a member of the Arkansas staff that helped lead the Razorbacks to the national championship in 1994.
