Iowa State Cyclones sophomore guard Yempabou "Bubu" Palo was arrested on Friday pursuant to sexual abuse charges that stem from an incident on May 18, according to an Associated Press report. Palo and another man -- Spencer Cruise -- face charges of second-degree sexual abuse, and on Friday Iowa State head coach Fred Hoiberg announced that Palo has been suspended indefinitely for violating school policy. A few awful details from the criminal complaint were provided in the AP report, and have been reproduced below:
The criminal complaint states that the men offered to give a woman a ride home on May 18 but instead drove her to a home owned by Cruise's family and "committed a sex act by force against the victim's will."
Palo is a former walk-on player who earned a scholarship during the second semester last season. He appeared in 21 games for the Cyclones during the 2011-12 campaign, averaging 4.0 points and 1.5 assists per game.
