Recap: B-Y-U vs. Air Force

Provo, UT (Sports Network) - Jonathan Tavernari had 19 points and five rebounds as 17th-ranked BYU pounded Air Force, 91-48, at Marriott Center.

Jackson Emery donated 18 points and five boards while Tyler Haws added 16 points for the Cougars (23-3, 8-2 MWC), who bounced back from last Saturday's loss at UNLV.

Mike Fitzgerald had 13 points and Michael Lyons added 10 for the Falcons (9-15, 1-10), who have dropped four straight.

BYU lead early and blew the game open with an 18-2 run as Tavernari buried three consecutive three-pointers with the last coming with just under 11 minutes to play for a 24-9 lead.

The Cougars later ripped off 13 straight points to help the team take a commanding 53-20 lead into the locker room.

Air Force got to within 30 points a couple of times in the second half, but that was as close as the game got as BYU cruised through the final 20 minutes for the win.

BYU plays at Colorado State on Wednesday...Air Force plays at New Mexico next Saturday...The Cougars have won 10 straight against the academy and hold a 52-12 lead in the all-time series.
