Clemson, SC (Sports Network) - Trevor Booker posted a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds, as 19th-ranked Clemson rolled to a 102-66 win over Winthrop at Littlejohn Coliseum.
David Potter, Noel Johnson and Andre Young all had 12 points for the Tigers (4-0), who host Texas A&M on Thursday. Jerai Grant added 11 points and Tanner Smith contributed 10 for the winning effort.
Justin Burton led the way with 13 points for the Eagles (2-2), who have dropped two of three. Matt Morgan added 10 points and Chris Malcolm posted eight in defeat.
The Tigers began the game on a 12-4 run, then boosted the advantage to 27-15 on a free throw by Demontez Stitt midway through the first half.
Johnson's jumper made it 38-22 with 6:10 remaining, and Young sank a trey with 2:59 left to open up an 18-point lead at 47-29. Clemson led 50-32 at the break.
Clemson blew the game wide open by starting the second half with a 21-7 burst, ending when Booker hit a jumper less than six minutes in for a 71-39 game. Devin Booker's easy lay-in with 10:59 to play opened up a 40-point advantage at 81-41 and the home team cruised the rest of the way.
Clemson holds a 7-1 edge in all-time meetings...Malcolm led Winthrop with seven rebounds...The Tigers shot 64.5 percent (20-of-31) in the second half and finished at 53 percent (35-of-66) for the game...The Eagles committed 26 turnovers.
