Pullman, WA (Sports Network) - Klay Thompson scored 25 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead the Washington State Cougars to a 76-64 victory over the Idaho Vandals in a non-conference battle at Friel Court.
DeAngelo Casto added a double-double of 13 points and 14 rebounds for WSU (7-1), while Reggie Moore tallied 12 points in the win.
Kashif Watson netted 16 points for Idaho (5-3), while Jeff Ledbetter chipped in with 12 points in the loss.
The Cougars went into the break with a 36-28 advantage over Idaho after holding the Vandals to a 37.9 percent shooting effort from the floor in the first half.
Washington State went on to win by a 12-point margin after shooting 50.0 percent from behind the arc in the second stanza.
The Cougars controlled the play in the paint, outscoring Idaho by a 32-20 margin, while also winning the battle on the glass, 44-35.
