Ann Arbor, MI (Sports Network) - Talor Battle racked up 14 points, 11 rebounds and six assists to lift the Penn State Nittany Lions over the Michigan Wolverines, 55-51, in a Big Ten Conference tilt.
Andrew Jones tallied 10 points for Penn State (10-16, 2-12 Big Ten).
Manny Harris scored 20 points in the loss for Michigan (13-13, 6-8), which got 10 points from DeShawn Sims.
Michigan shot just 38.5 percent from the floor in the first half and was fortunate to be tied, 29-29, at intermission.
Over the final 20 minutes, Penn State shot 50 percent from the field, and seven unanswered points early in that final frame proved to be the difference.
A 39-25 rebounding advantage helped the Nittany Lions overcome their low total of two points from the foul line.
