Recap: Vanderbilt vs. Middle Tennessee

Nashville, TN (Sports Network) - Jeffery Taylor scored 14 points to lead the Vanderbilt Commodores to a 73-53 victory over the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders in a non-league affair at Memorial Gym.

John Jenkins added 13 points for Vandy (11-3), while Jermaine Beal posted 11 points. A.J. Ogilvy and Festus Ezeli both contributed 10 points apiece in the win.

Desmond Yates netted 14 points for Middle Tennessee (7-7), while James Washington chipped in with 13 points in the loss.

The Commodores shot a sizzling 60.7 percent from the floor in the first half and went into the break with a 41-29 lead.

Vandy only connected on 39.1 percent of its attempts from the field in the second stanza, but the team used a 12-of-16 clip from the foul line to seal the victory.

Vanderbilt's bench scored 31 points in the contest, while MTU's reserves posted 11 points.
