Columbia, SC (Sports Network) - A.J. Ogilvy scored 22 points and grabbed nine rebounds to power the Vanderbilt Commodores to an 89-79 victory over the South Carolina Gamecocks in SEC play.
Jeffery Taylor netted 16 points for Vanderbilt (14-3, 3-0 SEC), which got 10 points apiece from Jermaine Beal and John Jenkins.
Devan Downey poured in 35 points in defeat for South Carolina (11-6, 2-1). Lakeem Jackson and Brandis Raley-Ross scored 11 points apiece for the Gamecocks, who received 10 points from Sam Muldrow.
Vanderbilt led 41-35 at intermission after shooting 63 percent from the floor in the first half, including 5-of-7 from three-point range.
A 59.3 percent effort from the field over the final 20 minutes sealed the victory for the Commodores.
Vanderbilt overcame 20 turnovers with the help of a 39-24 rebounding advantage.
