Pullman, WA (Sports Network) - Klay Thompson poured in 27 points to lead the Washington State Cougars to a 77-73 victory over the Stanford Cardinal in Pac-10 Conference action.
Marcus Capers and Nikola Koprivica tallied 10 points apiece for Washington State (13-5, 3-3 Pac-10).
Jeremy Green netted 24 points in defeat for Stanford (8-9, 2-3). Landry Fields scored 18 points for the Cardinal, which got 12 points from Jack Trotter and 10 points from Drew Shiller.
Stanford jumped out to a 10-2 lead, but Washington State dominated the rest of the first half and owned a 46-26 lead at intermission
Reggie Moore hit seven foul shots in the final 50 seconds to seal the victory for Washington State, which nearly squandered a 17-point advantage.
The Cougars are now 8-2 at home this season.
