Pac-12 Football Saturday TV Schedule Highlighted By Arizona Vs. Oregon

After the USC vs. Stanford teaser last week, the Pac-12 has its first week of conference battles on Saturday, with five games on the docket, highlighted by the two prolific offenses of the Arizona Wildcats and Oregon Ducks meeting in Eugene. Both the USC Trojans and UCLA Bruins are home in Los Angeles on the same day for the first of three times this season. Here is a look at the Saturday Pac-12 television schedule.

12:30 p.m. - Oregon St. Beavers (1-0) at UCLA (3-0), ABC/ESPN2: The battle of undefeated teams is a tad misleading, as the Beavers have played just one game, but the matchup is intriguing with the No. 19 Bruins battling an Oregon State team looking to improve on its current No. 26, outside-looking-in status.

1 p.m. - Colorado Buffaloes (0-3) at Washington St. Cougars (2-1), FX: Colorado has been terrible to start the season, with a home loss to Sacramento State and a 69-14 drubbing by Fresno State in the last two weeks. The Cougars have an excellent chance to improve to 3-1, hosting Colorado in Pullman.

3 p.m. - Cal Bears (1-2) at USC (2-1), Pac-12 Network: The No. 13 Trojans look to rebound from their loss at Stanford while making their Pac-12 Network debut, leading DirecTV customers scrambling to find a place to watch the game. USC has beaten Cal eight straight years.

7 p.m. - Utah Utes (2-1) at Arizona State (2-1), Pac-12 Network: The Sun Devils lead the all-time series 17-6, including a 35-14 win last season.

7:30 p.m. - Arizona (3-0) at Oregon (3-0), ESPN: The game of the day in the Pac-12 features two ranked, undefeated teams, while new head coach Rich Rodriguez looks for a signature win for his No. 22 Wildcats. All-purpose threat De'Anthony Thomas is averaging 17.5 yards per rush this season for the No. 3 Ducks.

De'Anthony Thomas is having quite the year for the Oregon Ducks. Many around the nation believe he is the fastest man in college football, and hopes for a Heisman Trophy remain high in Eugene.

As the Ducks begin Pac-12 play this weekend, Thomas will take the field knowing he has accomplished something very few college athletes have done: appear on the front cover of a Sports Illustrated issue.

Through three games this season, Thomas has 13 rushing attempts for 228 yards and four touchdowns. He has 11 receptions for 154 yards and three more scores. DAT also has seven punt returns for 93 yards. Oregon has used him sparingly against their weak out-of-conference schedule, although that will likely change this weekend as the No. 22 Arizona Wildcats come to town.

643 Yards And 10 Touchdowns Are Actual Game Stats For Oregon High Schooler

Aloha HS (Ore.) running back Thomas Tyner, a longtime Oregon Duck verbal commit, rushed for an absurd, record-setting 643 yards on 38 carries, with 10 TDs against Lakeridge HS (Ore.).

Tyner, an athlete equally known locally for his abilities on the track as he is on the football field (see: 10.38 100 yd dash as a sophomore), put together an all-time performance on the ground, setting state records for total rushing yards and total touchdowns in a single game as his Aloha Warriors took down the Lakeridge Pacers 84-63 in a fun, rare night of Portland area #MACtion.

The senior running back (listed by Scout.com at 6'1, 218 lbs) is considered to be a nationally elite recruit and committed to Chip Kelly and the Ducks last November.

Also, if you're keeping score with a degenerate fantasy football mind, that'd be 124 fantasy points notched by Tyner in all of your standard scoring OSAA fantasy leagues.

Florida HS Creates Ugliest Uniforms Ever

Everyone always complains about gaudy college uniforms, particularly the generally-absurd Nike Pro Combat spectacles. But it appears we were blind to the true enemy: high school football uniforms. Atlantic High School in Florida has demonstrated us just how foolish we were to sleep on the absurdity that public schools are capable of. Hit the jump, if you dare.

There, that's better. Sheesh. Warn someone before you do that, Atlantic High School.

Atlantic High's colors are green and white and I suppose that, technically, this is green and white. Technically, it also looks like this guy just got slimed. Or that he was partying to hard with Zordon and Zordon barfed all over his left arm and leg. (That was a Power Rangers joke.)

Honestly, the weirdest part of this whole uniform to me? Not that this looks like a Frankenstein's monster cobbled together from the Oregon Ducks and Greenman; not the Dayglo-orange chinstrap. It's the odd little booties on the toes of the shoes. This is probably a common thing, but man; so weird.

Let's all just bask in this, shall we? Oregon, we know you're dying to top this. You are now officially on the clock.

Oregon Football All-White Uniforms For 2012 Revealed?

The Oregon Ducks have always been at the forefront of college football fashion, and they've started 2012 no differently. They went with green jerseys and yellow helmets and pants for their first game of the season against Arkansas State, with the yellow helmets an offshoot of their metallic helmets at the Rose Bowl. They went back to that metallic tint for their second game of the season against Fresno State, and also utilized grey helmets.

When Oregon goes on the road, they figure to be mandated to wear white jerseys as part of the road uniform getup. So what will the Ducks choose to wear for this occasion? Check it out after the jump.

Those are pretty sweet-looking, as almost everything Oregon does tends to have that nice little flair. But the all-white uni is a concept the Ducks popularized years ago, and they continue to throw out that combo with a fresher look each time.

Pac-12 Network Reaches Deal With DISH Network, To Carry Saturday Games

The Pac-12 Network has reached a deal with DISH Network, and subscribers will begin getting the network in time for Saturday's college football schedule.

"Now Pac-12 Networks is available through more than 40 television providers, including four of the top five largest distributors in the United States," the network released in a statement.

That one missing distributor is DirecTV, which is the elephant in the room, but getting DISH Network on board is a major step in the right direction for the Pac-12 Network.

The network will be available on channel 413 on DISH Network, and Saturday's television schedule features six games. The highlights are the No. 4 Oregon Ducks hosting the Fresno State Bulldogs, and the Arizona Wildcats hosting the No. 18 Oklahoma State Cowboys.

The UCLA Bruins will play their first game on the Pac-12 Network on Sept. 15, hosting the Houston Cougars at the Rose Bowl. The USC Trojans make their debut on the network in two weeks, with a Sept. 22 home game against the Cal Bears.

We have one week of college football behind us, so it's time to delve into the world of predictions. Here are one fool's picks for Week 2 of the Pac-12, with all point spreads courtesy of SB Nation. All times PDT.

Friday

5 p.m. - Utah Utes at Utah State Aggies: The Utes opened their season with a shutout, and I while there is some potential to overlook one in-state opponent for the one looming next week in BYU, I think the Utes have what it takes to handle the Aggies. The pick: Utah (-7)

Saturday

12:30 p.m. - USC Trojans vs. Syracuse Orange: The now No. 2 Trojans hit the big stage with a nationally televised game on ABC at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. Seems like a perfect stage for Matt Barkley and company. The pick: USC (-28)

12:30 p.m. - Fresno State Bulldogs at Oregon Ducks: The No. 4 Ducks reached 50 points before halftime in their opener. Look for the scoring to continue against the Bulldogs. The pick: Oregon (-35)

1 p.m. - Wisconsin Badgers at Oregon State Beavers: It's not quite facing the Ducks, but look for the No. 13 Badgers to take out their 2012 Rose Bowl revenge on the state of Oregon with a whooping in Corvallis. The pick: Wisconsin (-7)

4 p.m. - Washington Huskies at LSU Tigers: In what is probably the game of the weekend for the Pac-12, Steve Sarkisian's team gets a big test. I think they can stay within three touchdowns of No. 3 LSU. The pick: Washington (+24)

4:30 p.m. - Nebraska Cornhuskers at UCLA Bruins: This will be a big test for redshirt freshman quarterback Brett Hundley, but in their home opener I think the Bruins stay close enough to No. 16 Nebraska. The pick: UCLA (+5)

7:30 p.m. - Oklahoma State Cowboys at Arizona Wildcats: It should be a tough battle in the desert, but look for the Cowboys to pull away. The pick: Oklahoma State (-11)

7:30 p.m. - Duke Blue Devils at Stanford Cardinal: The No. 25 Cardinal had a close call with a narrow win over San Jose State last week, but look for a rebound against Duke. The pick: Stanford (-15)

7:30 p.m. - Illinois Fighting Illini at Arizona State Sun Devils: ASU looks for revenge for their 17-14 loss to Illinois last season. The pick: Arizona (-4)

There were no lines for the three noon games (Southern Utah at Cal, Eastern Washington at Washington State, and Sacramento State at Colorado), so no picks were made.

The Week 2 Coaches' Poll, As Represented By 90s Sitcoms

It's college football season again, which means it's time for RANKINGS. Every ranking you can imagine: power, coach, AP, Sagarin, BCS, whatever! Most of these don't make any sense at all! Almost all of them are completely arbitrary! Well, we want to get in on the act as well, you selfish jerks. Here's our version of the coaches' poll, where we explain how each team is like a 1990s sitcom. This will make exactly as much sense as the actual coaches' poll and will probably better explain the reasoning behind the votes.

The full Coaches' Poll Top 25 for Week 1:

Team (first-place votes)

1. Alabama (37) - We're going with The Nanny on this one, not because it's the best 1990s sitcom, but because it's the only one as annoying as Crimson Tide fans.

2. Southern California (14) - Matt Barkley's team is pretty laid-back, just like the titular protagonist in Parker Lewis Can't Lose. Let's all start calling him Barkley Lewis! No, that's dumb. Sorry.

3. LSU (7) - The Tigers want to be Seinfeld, but they're basically just Friends. Hey, that's okay, too!

4. Oregon (1) - Classy and refined, just like that other Pacific Northwest treasure, Frasier. Kelsey Grammer had as many haircuts on the show as Oregon has uniform variations, which is weird for a guy with no hair.

5. Oklahoma - Everyone loves Roseanne, right? Oklahoma may be the least-hate-able of every major college football team.

6. Florida State - You came here for a Golden Girls joke, right? Well then, you're welcome.

7. Georgia - The Bulldogs are The Torkelsons. I'm sorry, but they are.

8. West Virginia - The number-one party school in the nation could only ever be The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, right?

9. South Carolina - Steve Spurrier's squad gets the honor of being Just the Ten of Us, because Steve Spurrier is awesome and so was this show.

10. Arkansas - The George Carlin Show ran for one season and it was awesome. The John L. Smith show will run for one season and will probably not be very awesome at all.

11. Michigan State - Not, you know, FUNNY-funny, but still pretty good. Did I describe Michigan State or Murphy Brown? We'll never know.

12. Clemson - The Tigers get to be Wings, because there's nothing exceptional about either one.

13. Wisconsin - Married ... With Children, but not the good episodes. That lousy two-parter in England with the unnecessary laugh track.

14. Nebraska - Just like Mad About You, you get sick of it pretty much the instant you start watching.

15. Texas - We'll let the Longhorns be Everybody Loves Raymond, because they're always there when you turn your TV on.

16. Oklahoma State - Did you remember that the "Body by Jake" guy had a sitcom? Did you know that sitcom lasted FOUR SEASONS AND 100 EPISODES? I'm just bringing this up because the Oklahoma State Cowboys are apparently still plugging right along.

17. TCU - Cringe-inducing, hammy and hard to even look at. Just like 3rd Rock from the Sun.

18. Virginia Tech - The average VT student's life pretty much exactly follows the arc depicted on Boy Meets World. Everyone at VT is Cory Matthews. Shawn Hunter? He went to West Virginia.

19. Michigan - A Michigan man can appreciate the antics of Home Improvement, although once the episode is over, it's time to get serious.

20. Kansas State - Let's say that the Wildcats are Grace Under Fire, because nobody is going to remember either one at the end of the season.

21. Stanford - Of course Stanford is Head of the Class, right? It pretty much has to be.

22. Notre Dame - Gonna go with Blossom on this one. Everyone likes it in theory, but then you start getting into "very special episodes" and Joey Lawrence won't stop saying "whoa" and ugh just shut up already Notre Dame.

23. Florida - Living Single. You know; the one with Tootie and Queen Latifah. "Tootie" kind of sums up Florida at this point, right?

24. Louisville - Much like the sitcom Coach, Louisville isn't really about college football.

25. Boise State - Family Matters. At the end of the year, they'll realize they had too many Urkels on their team.

And Auburn fell out of the Top 25, which makes Auburn Herman's Head -- good for a while but then just kind of there. War damn Herman's Head.

Oregon Contributes Unnecessary Censorship To 'Gangnam Style' Craze

Another day, another "Gangnam Style" parody hitting the sports world. Hot on the heels of the possibly--officially-sanctioned MLB Postseason video, now the Oregon Ducks are getting in on the act. Their beloved mascot and noted pushups enthusiast, the eponymous Duck, is the star of a somewhat note-for-note remake of the extremely popular video by pop star PSY. Somewhat note-for-note. Because there are some notable words missing from Oregon's version.

Here's the Duck partying with cheerleaders, other mascots (or approximations thereof), puppets and of course an entire legion of Oregon bros. See if you can spot the subtle edit in the music track.

Yep, this Korean pop song normally contains just three words in English, but the Ducks have chosen to shy away from the horribly family-unfriendly word "sexy." Thus, the previously only sing-along-able part for most of us, the "HEYYYYYY SEXY LAAAADDYYYYY" has now been turned into "HEYYYYYY [awkward pause] LAAAADDYYYYY."

I was at Disneyland last week and they played Justin Timberlake's "Sexyback" for a bunch of dancing toddlers. At Disneyland. Surprising that Oregon would be such prudes about this song while broadcasting from deep within the thickets of their expansive fields of marijuana. Also, the video features this:

Which I would argue is a million times more scarring than the word "sexy." Oppa arbitrary decisions style.
