The Wichita State Shockers had a Cinderella run come to an end against the Louisville Cardinals on Saturday, but they came remarkably close to the championship game.
Wichita State won ugly for the entire NCAA Tournament, and looked as if it had the ability to even beat the Louisville Cardinals. But at some point on that Final Four court in Atlanta, the magic ran out.
Survive and advance
Luke Hancock had 20 points off the bench for Louisville, which won 72-68 in the Final Four over Wichita State to advance to Monday's championship game.
The Shockers seem to be collapsing a bit down the stretch.
As Wichita State is neck-and-neck with Louisville, the entire Shocker fan base does the "shocker".
Despite playing on a huge stage, it's the underdog Shockers who are calm, cool and collected.
Wichita State scored the first eight points Saturday, but Louisville charged back quickly on the heels of its defense. The Shockers led 26-25 at halftime in the Final Four's first semifinal.
The first Final Four game will feature the top-seeded team in the tournament against the lowest seeded remaining team.
