Alabama WR Julio Jones Breaks Hand, Status Uncertain For Ole Miss

Julio Jones, Alabama's leading receiver, suffered a fractured bone in his hand during the Crimson Tide's 35-21 loss to South Carolina on Saturday, head coach Nick Saban said in his press conference Monday.

Saban added that Jones broke the hand in the first half of Saturday's game. Jones has already undergone surgery to insert a plate and screw to fix the fracture, but his ability to play for the Tide against Ole Miss this weekend is uncertain and depends on his "pain tolerance."

Jones finished with eights catches -- including three receptions in the fourth quarter -- for 118 yards and a touchdown against South Carolina.

For a team trying to go undefeated for a second straight season and defend it's national title, this weekend could not have gone worse, a sentiment SB Nation Crimson Tide blog RollBamaRoll certainly agrees with: "At a time when we need the offense to be a juggernaut, losing our best receiver only makes being that all the more difficult."
