Rumor: Decision Is Up To TCU If They Want To Join The Big East

ESPN had a chat earlier today with their Big East blogger, and one of the questions was about TCU joining the Big East:

Has TCU been officially extended an invitation by the Big East ?Or is this still in the back room discussion stage?

My understanding is that it's up to TCU to decide if it wants to make that move. I believe the Big East would bend over backward to welcome the Horned Frogs.

If TCU has already received the invite, there is no reason for them to take their time making this decision, because they should accept in a heartbeat. They would get more money, be near the top of the league in year one, and have easier access to a BCS bowl.

This is a no-brainer decision, and those who say travel is an issue: just check the map below. TCU would face travel costs similar to those they're dealing with now in the Mountain West.
