In typical Big Ten fashion, we've got a tidy first quarter with not a lot of scoring to show for it. Iowa receives, and the Hawkeyes' first drive is neatly divided between Ricky Stanzi and Marcus Coker. Those two take more than five minutes off the clock, but are forced to punt shortly after venturing into Buckeye territory.
The Buckeyes fare little better, punting from their own 44 after four minutes, although Terrelle Pryor does hit Dane Sanzenbacher down the right-hand side for a nice 21-yard gain.
The Hawkeyes are about to get theirs, however -- with the quarter winding down, Iowa launches a balanced attack drive that takes them from their own 13 to Ohio State's 19 in four minutes, where Stanzi throws a touchdown pass to Marvin McNutt. At the end of the first quarter, Iowa leads, 7-0.
