Are you an arms dealer? Big fan of pirates and pirate culture? Then this year's Military Bowl Presented By Northrup Grumman is for you! The former EagleBank Bowl (talk about a name upgrade) has invited the East Carolina Pirates to play in DC on December 29.
It'll be a short trip for ECU, and one they're frankly lucky to be making as a mid-major team with six losses, four of them in the last five weeks of the season. The Purple Pirates have displayed a potent offense throughout the season, but their steadfast commitment to not playing defense at any time has gotten them waylaid by teams prestigious (Virginia Tech) and not (Rice!). They'll face an ACC opponent, likely either Clemson or Boston College, in what is almost certain to be an uphill battle if the other team is capable of slowing down their scoring at all.
