Missouri, Iowa Will Meet In Insight Bowl

Stay connected with SB Nation

The Columbia Tribune is reporting that the Insight Bowl will match up Missouri and Iowa.

That's a nice little matchup for a mid-tier bowl: the Tigers surprised this year, going 10-2 and upsetting Oklahoma, and the Hawkeyes started strong and walloped Michigan State at home before fading fast. Missouri and Iowa will play this year's Insight Bowl in Tempe, Arizona on December 28 at 10 p.m. Eastern.

A good matchup to watch will be Iowa's front four against Missouri's good quarterback, Blaine Gabbert. When the Hawkeyes' line was really rolling earlier in the year, it was able to both stuff the run and put pressure on quarterbacks. Gabbert's proven to be a capable heir to Chase Daniel at Missouri this season, but the Tigers often have to win games through the air. If Iowa can pressure him, will he make the decisions necessary to get Missouri the win?

You'll have to wait a few weeks to find out. I know, I know: the suspense is killing me, too.
