The Champs Sports Bowl is getting one of college football's most loyal fanbases.
West Virginia has accepted a bid to the bowl, which takes place on December 28 at 6:30 p.m. Eastern in Orlando.
There's no word on what team the Mountaineers might face just yet, but the Champs Sports Bowl's other tie-in is to the ACC, and many ACC teams have already accepted bowl bids. North Carolina State would make a lot of sense as a candidate.
Whichever team does play West Virginia will have its hands full. The Mountaineers came on strong late in the 2010 season, finishing at 9-3 and tied for the Big East lead after winning its last four games, three by 20 or more points.
Scoring on West Virginia is especially hard: the Mountaineers have the nation's second-best scoring defense and haven't given up more than 21 points in a game all year.
