Could the 2011 Fiesta Bowl be the biggest mismatch in BCS history?
Oklahoma is ranked seventh in the final BCS rankings. The Sooners have beaten Oklahoma State, Nebraska, and Florida State. And their Fiesta Bowl opponent, Connecticut, isn't even in the top 25 in the final BCS standings.
But the Sooners will underestimate the Huskies at their own peril. The Connecticut rushing offense is quite good, with Jordan Todman following an underrated line to 1,574 yards this season, and Oklahoma is merely mediocre at stopping the run.
And there's historical precedent for Oklahoma being upset at the Fiesta Bowl. One only needs to look at losses to Boise State and West Virginia in the desert in the past five years to see that.
Bowl selections will continue to roll in all night, and we'll be following them all right here.
