Hawaii Bowl: Christmas Eve Game Features Tulsa, Hawaii

The Hawaii Bowl might feature some fireworks this year.

Tulsa will travel to the islands and meet Hawaii on December 24 at 8 p.m. Eastern for the traditional Christmas Eve game in Honolulu. This one may light up living rooms more than most Christmas trees.

Tulsa has been one of the nation's best offensive teams since hiring Gus Malzahn — now Auburn's offensive coordinator — from Arkansas. 2010 was no different: the Golden Hurricane scored 40 or more points six times this year.

Hawaii, by the same token, has been one of the finest passing offenses since the days of June Jones wearing leis on the sideline while Timmy Chang tore up the NCAA record books, and 2010's edition of the Warriors offense was almost as good as its predecessors: quarterback Bryant Moniz leads the nation in yards per game.

So on Christmas Eve, you can either gather around the fire with your family — or kick back in a recliner and just wait for the warmth from the inevitable explosion of points in the Hawaii Bowl to lull you to sleep.

Bowl selections will continue to roll in all night, and we'll be following them all right here. Stay tuned to this StoryStream through the selection show, and browse our complete college football 2010 postseason schedule.
