Is Von Miller The Biggest 2011 Senior Bowl Standout?

Stay connected with SB Nation

Texas A&M LB/DE Von Miller was expected to be a middle-to-lower first-round pick coming into Senior Bowl practice week, but the six-foot-three, 240-pounder has decided to do something about that. Adam Schefter thinks Miller has become a top-five pick based on his superb week of Senior Bowl practices, and the raves don’t stop there.

The word “shredded” keeps popping up as scouts breathlessly describe his physique, while Todd McShay lists him alongside fellow Senior Bowl breakouts like Patrick Willis and Clay Matthews.

Though Miller has been working with linebackers, he’s also joined in pass-rush drills with defensive linemen, where his excellent play went to another level.

Big talk and big comparisons, but remember we’re talking about a player who led the nation in sacks in 2009, is a two-time first-team All-American, and won the Butkus Award in 2010. He’s led many observers and evaluators to describe him as smart and classy, too, which never hurts, unless if you’re Myron Rolle.
