Stanford Cardinal coach Jim Harbaugh has reportedly been removed from the running for the not-yet available Michigan Wolverines head coaching job, which a reputable inside source may have just confirmed. National Football Post’s Aaron Wilson quotes Baltimore Ravens coach John Harbaugh as saying the Stanford coach won’t be going to Michigan:
John Harbaugh on Jim Harbaugh: ‘I think the Michigan thing is done now. I don’t think he’s going to have anything to do with that.’
In case your suspicions are starting to raise themselves, the two Harbaughs are indeed brothers.
Whether this means the Michigan job is no longer likely to become available, Harbaugh has decided to remain Stanford’s coach, or Harbaugh has his heart set on landing an NFL job, we’ll have to wait and see. Fans of family drama will want to root for Harbaugh to take the rumored Miami Dolphins or Denver Broncos jobs, as those would be the teams with which he’d most likely face his brother’s Ravens.
