The 2010 college football postseason rolls on as it wonderful Mobile, Alabama. It's time to start your betting engines as Miami of Ohio and Middle Tennessee State hit the field in the GoDaddy.com Bowl. With bowl season slowly winding down, chances to blow money on meaningless college games are at a premium, so act fast..
The line: Middle Tennessee State by a field goal. Miami opened as a three-point favorite, but Mike Haywood left for Pitt. Weeks later, the line has swung in Middle Tennessee State's favor and Haywood is out of a job. Funny how things change.
Notable Miami of Ohio units: On the good side, the RedHawks pass for 250.7 yards per game, ranked 35th in the nation. On the bad side, the RedHawks ranked 114th in the nation in stopping the run, giving up 96.8 yards per game on the ground. Miami's scoring defense is also near-last in the nation, giving up 20.5 points per game.
Notable Middle Tennessee State units: The rushing attack MTSU boasts is the most noteworthy unit for the Blue Raiders. Ranked 33rd in the nation, MTSU rushes for 178.5 yards per game. Every other major unit is below average.
The pick: Haywood's gone, but the team remains. The line shifted by nearly a touchdown and that seems like far too much. Let's go with Miami in an outright win here. The RedHawks will go ahead and win one for their fallen coach who isn't actually fallen but deserted them and lost his job in embarrassing fashion.
The GoDaddy.com Bowl kicks off at 8:00 p.m. EST on Jan. 6. The game will be televised on ESPN. Browse our 2010 college football postseason schedule for a complete list of bowls.
