We've had two touchdowns in just over two minutes in the 2011 GoDaddy.com Bowl. Anybody in the mood for a third? You'll have to wait a good minute and a half this time, but the results are worth the wait.
Middle Tennessee State doesn't employ Dwight Dasher until third down on this latest possession, but he makes good, passing to Malcolm Beyah for an 11-yard gain that earns the Blue Raiders a fresh set of downs. Three plays later, Dash breaks loose left for a 49-yard touchdown rocket run, and if that doesn't crank your tractor enough, a fight breaks out in the endzone! Sort of! Both teams are penalized, and the first quarter draws to a close with Miami's Armand Robinson breaking off a nice 21-yard run of his own.
The second quarter, you will be shocked to learn, opens with yet another score. Three plays into the period, Austin Boucher hits Nick Harwell with a 40-yard bomb that sets the RedHawks up for a three-yard touchdown punch by Thomas Merriweather. With 13:16 remaining in the second quarter, Miami and MTSU are tied, 14-14.
