Mississippi State and Georgia both need a big win on Saturday to resurrect their seasons
Saturday's clash between the Georgia Bulldogs and Mississippi State Bulldogs isn't a massive one in regards to SEC title or BCS implications, but it's a massive game for both schools nonetheless. Both teams came into this season with expectations of a good season, and both teams are struggling to live up to those expectations at 2-2.
The winner of this game will likely have renewed hope that they can press on and finish with a .500 or better record in the SEC, along with a January bowl berth. The loser is going to have a serious uphill battle towards reaching that goal.
Mississippi State will need to get off to a great start defensively and in their running game, as they're not too adept at using their passing game to come from behind. Meanwhile, on the other side of the ball, Aaron Murray has the talent to dig Georgia out of a hole. This is probably the biggest reason that Georgia are favored by a touchdown, with the second biggest reason being that this game is being played between the hedges.
Game date, time: 12:00pm ET, Saturday, October 1
Location: Sanford Stadium, Athens, Georgia
TV channel: ESPN Gameplan/ESPN3
Spread: Georgia by 7
