Georgia Vs. Mississippi State Final Score: Aaron Murray Leads Bulldogs To Victory

Stay connected with SB Nation

The Georgia Bulldogs didn't get off to the start the team had planned this season, but thanks to a victory over SEC rival Mississippi State, they have at least won more games than they have lost this season. The Bulldogs of Georgia were able to improve their record to 3-2 on the season thanks to a pair of first quarter passing touchdowns from quarterback Aaron Murray that made the final score 24-10 in favor of the home team.

Murray, the Georgia sophomore quarterback, completed 13 of his 25 attempts on Saturday for a total of 160 yards and the aforementioned touchdowns. Marring his day, however, was that one of his three interceptions was returned for Mississippi State's only touchdown Darius Slay took an errant throw 72 yards to the opposite end zone.

Georgia running back Isaiah Crowell (pictured above) also did his part in the game as he rushed 22 times for 104 yards, but was unfortunately held out of the end zone. The fact that Georgia's time of possession bested Mississippi State by nearly 10 minutes was mostly thanks to Crowell's ability to eat up yards -- and minutes -- on the ground.

The Bulldogs from Mississippi State were pretty much inept on offense as they weren't able to move the ball much through the air and picked up just 56 yards on the ground to equal less than two yards per carry. A bright side might be than Dylan Favre was given a chance to throw a couple of passes, though both of them ended up incomplete. Mississippi State was held to just 4-of-15 on third-down conversions.
