The Wisconsin Badgers are surely hoping that missed extra point won't come back to haunt them when the clock reaches zero in the fourth quarter. But at halftime, the Badgers lead the Nebraska Cornhuskers, 27-14.
The Badgers had been losing, 14-7, in the second quarter when Russell Wilson directed a long drive down the field. Montee Ball put the ball in the end zone for his second score of the game, but the extra point was blocked. Wilson directed another scoring drive at the end of the second quarter to put Wisconsin in the lead. He found Jared Abbrederis in the end zone for a 36-yard touchdown and the 20-14 lead.
Nebraska quarterback Taylor Martinez threw an interception on the ensuing drive, which Russell Wilson turned into a 46-yard touchdown pass to Nick Toon. Wilson put enough touch on the ball to keep it ahead of several Nebraska defenders but also in position for Toon to make the catch.
Nebraska kicker Brett Maher missed a 50-yard field goal at the end of the quarter.
