AAAAAAAAANY week now the Coaches Poll will catch on to the LSU Tigers being the team with the country's best resume. Both other human polls, the AP Top 25 and the Harris Poll, acknowledge the job LSU's done as being superior to that of any other team in the country, but the coaches athletic department lackeys are still riding with the Oklahoma Sooners at No. 1.
Sure, sure, fine, fine, Oklahoma has two quality wins now, though it would be nice if they'd been able to beat the Florida St. Seminoles by more than five more points than the Wake Forest Demon Deacons did. Oklahoma is clearly an excellent team and worthy of its spot in the three-team upper class.
But a big win over the unproven Texas Longhorns doesn't compare to LSU's wins against the Oregon Ducks, West Virginia Mountaineers and the Florida Gators, who've otherwise combined to lose one game -- to the Alabama Crimson Tide.
It's easy to say this stuff doesn't matter, but it does. Both the Coaches and Harris count toward official BCS rankings, which start coming out this Sunday.
