After an early-game red zone appearance that saw the USC Trojans fumble the ball away while employing some fourth-down chicanery, Lane Kiffin's team has finally just gone ahead and kicked the thing. They're up, 3-0, on the California Golden Bears about halfway through the first quarter.
We're looking at a real treat of a game, with each team already losing a fumble and the Bears coughing up another. At least the scenery is nice, as Cal is playing by McCovey Cove in the San Francisco Giants park due to renovations of their own home stadium. But, yeah, baseball game score.
The big offensive play so far: Marqise Lee caught a 31-yard strike from Matt Barkley. A "double," so to speak.
