The Wake Forest Demon Deacons host the No.19 Virginia Tech Hokies on Saturday.
The Wake Forest Demon Deacons host a second straight ranked opponent when the No. 19 Virginia Tech Hokies visit Winston-Salem on Saturday. The Hokies beat Wake Forest 52-21 on their way to an ACC Championship in 2010, a defeat Jim Grobe's staff will be looking to avenge.
Wake Forest used five turnovers to upset Florida State last week, with sophomore quarterback Tanner Price completing 21-of-35 pass attempts for 233 yards and three touchdowns. Price has completed 62.3 percent of his pass attempts this season for 1,352 yards and 10 touchdowns, with junior wide receiver Chris Givens (33-599-5) providing a big-play element in the passing game.
Following a 4-0 start to the 2011 season, the Hokies have struggled in ACC play, losing 23-3 to Clemson and needing a touchdown by quarterback Logan Thomas in the final minute to get by the Miami Hurricanes. Thomas was a blistering 23-of-25 for 310 yards and three touchdowns against the Hurricanes, including a 60-yard connection with Jarrett Boykin, who became the school's all-time leader with 2,356 receiving yards.
