The No. 1 ranked LSU Tigers look to make it 7 in a row as they travel to Tennesee
LSU is off to a 6-0 start, including a 3-0 SEC record, and look to takedown Tennessee to make it 7-0. Volunteers quarterback Matt Simms, who started eight games in 2010, makes his first start of the season against arguably the nation's top defensive unit. Without regular starting quarterback Tyler Bray, the Tigers will be looking to shutdown the Vols rushing attack and force the first time starter to make plays.
Joel at Rocky Top Talk talks a bit about the rushing game.
Based on the numbers so far this season, I'm sorry to say that my prediction of zero rushing yards may be overly optimistic. Without Bray and Hunter, Tennessee's offense may be none-dimensional, which is not good news against an elite defense. John Stockdale stoicly acknowledges this fact with only a degree of grim in his determination and refers you to an unspecified date on his non-existent calendar when all of this bamboo-watering will pay off.
LSU's offense on the other hand has Jordan Jefferson back, but not as the starting quarterback. Jarrett Lee is still the starter and is looking to continue his efficient ways passing the football. Jefferson is being used however in a rotational role and his reps will likely increase. The Tennessee defense will look to slow down the LSU rushing attack that has helped the Tigers grind out victories.
