After losing to the Texas Longhorns 12 years in a row, Oklahoma State finally broke the streak last year with a 33-16 win on the road. The Cowboys will look to make in two in a row now and capitalize off of the beat down Texas suffered to the Oklahoma Sooners last week, 55-17. Unfortunately for Texas, they go from one high powered offense from the state of Oklahoma to another.
Oklahoma State brings their 2nd ranked passing offense to Texas, coming off putting up 70 on Kansas, 50 of that in the first half. Quarterback Brandon Wheedon and receiver Justin Blackmon are virtually unstoppable. Peter Bean over at Burnt Orange Nation however, thinks he knows how to slow it down.
Like Landry Jones and the OU offense he directs, Cowboys QB Brandon Weeden and his offense are nearly unstoppable when they're comfortable and have time to execute all the things they do so well. Disrupting that rhythm is about more than getting pressure on Weeden; the key is making plays that cause the OSU offense to hesitate. Creating that hesitation -- that extra bit of thinking, that seed of doubt -- might come from getting to Weeden and delivering some memorable hits.
It doesn't sound like the Cowboys are worried much about the Longhorns offense, which is the only way Texas can have a hope to stay in the game.
So, what do we know so far? Well, Texas can't protect the quarterback well, they can't run block well, and they love to give the ball away. Can they catch? Well, we all know they have at least one receiver, since we know where there is a baby McCoy, there is a baby Shipley. I'm talking of course, of Jaxon Shipley.
