After Texas got thoroughly blown to smithereens by Oklahoma last week, many expected Oklahoma State to be able to similarly destroy the Longhorns this Saturday. And the Cowboys do have a comfortable lead, but just that, ahead 21-10 going into halftime.
Brandon Weeden is 14-of-23 for 176 yards and a touchdown for Oklahoma State, with 71 of those yards and the score going to Justin Blackmon on six catches. The running game has accounted for the other two touchdowns and a nice 5.1 yard per carry average, but they've only gotten 11 chances to run.
Texas, meanwhile, has used the running game to try to take some of the pressure off David Ash. Malcolm Brown has 72 yards and Texas' lone touchdown on 11 carries, part of 126 yards on 27 rushes for the Longhorns' ground attack. Even so, Ash already has a clear favorite target -- Mike Davis, who has 68 of the 70 receiving yards for Texas and has caught seven of the nine passes Ash has completed.
