VIDEO: Steve Spurrier On Marcus Lattimore's Injury Status

Stay connected with SB Nation

South Carolina Gamecocks running back Marcus Lattimore had to leave early after suffering a sprained left knee against the Mississippi St. Bulldogs. After the game, coach Steve Spurrier noted Lattimore would soon be evaluated, but briefly commented on what Carolina's offense could turn to if his star back has to miss playing time:

As Spurrier notes while poring over the box score, Kenny Miles has had a sprained wrist for a spell, while Brandon Wilds remains available on the depth chart. Wilds has 67 yards on the season, toting the rock eight times, and Miles has just one carry.

The good news is the Cocks get a week off before traveling to play the Tennessee Volunteers on Oct. 29. We'll likely know more in the next day or two, but USC might not rule out Lattimore until next week if he has to miss time.
