Virginia Tech Vs. Wake Forest Score: Hokies Trying To Hold Off Upset-Minded Deacons

Stay connected with SB Nation

The ACC has decided to be very ACC-ish today. Shortly after division leader Georgia Tech lost to Virginia, preseason conference favorite Virginia Tech found itself in a 10-0 hole to Wake Forest after the first quarter.

Order has at least temporarily been restored in Winston-Salem, with Logan Thomas' 20-yard touchdown pass to Jarrett Boykin giving the Hokies a 14-10 lead in the second quarter. That comes on top of Thomas' one-yard touchdown dash earlier in the quarter. David Wilson has 63 yards on eight carries for Tech.

Wake took its early 10-point lead on a 79-yard pass from Tanner Price to Chris Givens after a 28-yard field goal by Jimmy Newman. Price is 7-of-12 for 126 and the touchdown, while Brandon Pendergrass has 46 yards on 10 carries.
