It's the time of year when undefeated teams start dropping like flies, and Clemson is throwing its hat into the ring to be one of the loss-less teams to go down this week. The Tigers are down 24-10 to mediocre Maryland, whose only win after the season-opening victory against Miami was against Towson.
C.J. Brown is 7-of-12 passing for 67 yards and a touchdown to go with his 70 yards and a touchdown rushing. Cameron Chism has picked a Tajh Boyd pass, returning it 46 yards for the score. Davin Meggett chipped in a nine-yard rush for a touchdown.
Boyd's problems have not been confined to the interception; at one point, he was averaging 2.3 yards an attempt. But he also hit DeAndre Hopkins on a six-yard touchdown pass. Meanwhile, Andre Ellington has put together a nice game on the ground, rushing for 83 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries. The Tigers are going to need some more touchdowns if they want to keep their darkhorse national title hopes alive.
