Oklahoma Vs. Kansas Final Score: Sooners Pull Away In Second Half For 47-17 Win

Stay connected with SB Nation

The 47-17 margin of Oklahoma's win over Kansas seems about right. But the final margin doesn't tell how close this game was, at least until the half. Kansas threw its punches in the first, and it nearly worked as the Jayhawks headed into the break down just 10 points, 27-17.

But then Oklahoma did what Oklahoma does. The second half was all about the Sooners, with Kansas failing to score and Oklahoma scoring in bunches. A field goal in the third quarter gave the Sooners a 13-point advantage, then a final frame outburst featuring a Landry Jones touchdown pass and Dominique Whaley touchdown run sealed it.

And all the while the Oklahoma defense clamped down and suffocated the Jayhawks. But at least Kansas has the first half to hang on to.
