The No. 13 Clemson Tigers just became the first team in ACC history to beat three top-25 teams in a row, adding a resounding, 23-3 victory over the No. 11 Virginia Tech Hokies to their wins against the Auburn Tigers and Florida St. Seminoles. Did you ever think Clemson would be the team to achieve such a thing?
The Tigers are sure to be a top-10 team come Sunday afternoon, with Virginia Tech and South Carolina out of the way and either the Nebraska Cornhuskers or Wisconsin Badgers set to enter double digits. Some voters will find Clemson's win against Auburn the Gamecocks to be more impressive than it was before this weekend, but those voters will be ones who did not watch that game.
Commend Clemson's defense. Other than David Wilson's 123 yards on the ground, the Hokies had nothing to offer on offense. Tajh Boyd came back down to earth after throwing for 730 yards the past two weeks, but his 13-of-32 night, plus a communal ground game led by Mike Bellamy's 47 was all the Tigers needed.
Now the big question: can they avoid pulling a Clemson against Boston College?

If you told a Virginia Tech Hokies fan that Clemson Tigers quarterback Tajh Boyd would have already thrown 16 incompletions and an interception in the first half, your terms would be accepted and everyone would eat turkey sandwiches with smiles. But Clemson's defense has allowed only 137 yards and three points, and the Tigers lead, 10-3.
That lone touchdown came on an Andre Ellington one-yard lunge that concluded a nine-play, 48-yard drive. Boyd does have 112 yards passing, which is, well, way more than anybody else has mustered so far in this game. Logan Thomas is only six-of-14 for 38 yards passing. Can you tell there's a weather element?
In a game that's supposed to be Clemson's chance to prove it's for real for real and not just really good at home -- so far, so good.

The Clemson offense is running on all cylinders, but Frank Beamer's boys are home favorites with their top notch defense and special teams units playing well.
