Houston Nutt's new team will try to get its first SEC win against Houston Nutt's old team, which is the No. 10 team in the country. Houston Nutt is still regretting his decision.
Houston Nutt Bowl IV will take place Saturday with Nutt's old team, the Arkansas Razorbacks, as the 10th-ranked team in the country despite losing potential Heisman candidate Knile Davis in the preseason to a knee injury. Nutt's new team, Ole Miss, 2-4 with a season already in the tank.
It wasn't supposed to be this way for Nutt. He was supposed to be cackling his way to Oxford, Miss., leaving the Razorbacks down and disgruntled. The Razorbacks, meanwhile, have been reinvented by Bobby Petrino, and look to continue their dominance over Ole Miss in recent years.
In their past 10 meetings, the Razorbacks have beaten the Rebs seven times, five of which were by two touchdowns or more. With quarterback Tyler Wilson dealing the way he has been — 1,779 yards, 12 touchdowns, three interceptions — the game looks like Nutt will suffer his second straight loss to his former team after winning his first two.
Series record: Arkansas leads, 30-26
Last year’s result: Arkansas won, 38-24
Current streak: Arkansas has a one-game streak
Longest-ever streak: Ole Miss won six from 1959 to 1970
First meeting: 1908
